 nar offers a brief\, general introduction to the major kinds of intellectu
 al property rights and compares them to one another. It then shifts focus 
 to patents and the patenting process.\nThe requirements an invention must 
 meet in order to be patented is regulated by law. Machines\, compounds\, a
 nd processes can be patented as long as they meet all necessary requiremen
 ts\, with the decisive criteria being novelty\, inventive step\, technical
 ity\, industrial applicability\, and reproducibility.\n\nThis webinar intr
 oduces attendees to these basic requirements of patentability along with t
 he limits of patent protection. It also discusses the basics of the patent
  application process and how a patent is structured.
