Erasmus mobility for teaching and staff
Erasmus Teaching Staff Mobility
Erasmus Funding for Teaching Assignments at a European Partner University.
The Erasmus+ program supports not only the mobility of students but also enables teaching staff to undertake short-term teaching assignments (typically 1–2 weeks, up to a maximum of 6 weeks) at a European partner university.
-
The teaching stay at the partner university must comprise at least 8 teaching hours (except in the case of combined staff mobility with reduced teaching load) and at least 2 teaching days. For stays exceeding one week (i.e., 5 working days), a proportional adjustment of 1.6 teaching hours per additional working day applies.
In the case of blended mobility, at least 2 days and 8 teaching hours of in-person teaching at the partner university are required.
- A valid Inter-Institutional Agreement with the respective partner university must be in place for the funding period, and an individual Mobility Agreement must be concluded in advance.
- Lecturers wishing to apply for Erasmus funding must have a contractual relationship with the University of Bonn, and the planned teaching assignment must be reported to the Erasmus Faculty Coordination before the start of the semester. Contact: Erasmus@ukbonn.de
- Inclusion is a key concern of the Erasmus program. Staff members with a recognized degree of disability of 50% or more (GdB ≥ 50) are eligible for special funding. This must be applied for prior to the start of the stay abroad. Affected lecturers are welcome to contact Ms. Konermann-Krüger from Department 6.2 in the International Office directly.
- Further information (including financial support) on Erasmus teaching staff mobility can be found on the University intranet2
Please note:
This offer is aimed at professors/lecturers, adjunct instructors, and academic staff (including doctoral candidates) who are involved in teaching.
Applicants must have a contractual relationship with the University of Bonn (this includes members of the Medical Faculty but excludes employees of the University Hospital – in case of doubt, please refer to your employment contract).
Erasmus Staff Mobility
Erasmus staff mobility is a jointly coordinated initiative by the International Office and the Personnel Development Department, aimed at both advancing the internationalization of our university and promoting the professional development of its staff.
The core element consists of one- to two-week internships at a European university or company, or participation in an International Staff Week. Through these experiences, employees can gain insight into administrative processes and issues in another European country and higher education system, or in the private sector, and receive inspiration for further development of their work area. At the same time, foreign language skills and intercultural competencies can be enhanced. Furthermore, in the case of internships at partner universities, relationships with Erasmus partner institutions of the University of Bonn are also strengthened at the administrative level.
Information on application procedures, the application form, and testimonials about Erasmus staff mobility can be found on the University of Bonn's intranet.
