The event featured a diverse stage program ranging from dance performances to a DJ set, numerous food trucks, as well as various interactive activities and prize draws. This year’s festival was held under the overarching theme “You’re Gold.”
As part of the UKB’s largest summer festival to date, the Vice Dean’s Office for Sustainability of the Bonn Medical Faculty, in cooperation with ukb green, presented current sustainability-related initiatives.
The booth provided information on ongoing sustainability projects at UKB and offered opportunities for dialogue on solutions and ideas for fostering greater sustainability in the workplace. Visitors were also able to participate in a quiz to assess their ecological footprint, while a creative upcycling activity invited participants to repurpose used milk cartons into reusable design objects.
In addition, the Central Sterile Supply Department (ZAEMP) contributed to the booth by presenting its ongoing project on recyclable plastic materials, which had recently received funding from the Sustainability Commission of the Vice Dean’s Office.
The Vice Dean’s Office for Sustainability extends its sincere gratitude to all festival participants and visitors to the booth and looks forward to continuing these activities in the coming year.
Further information on sustainability, as well as detailed instructions for replicating the milk carton upcycling activity, is available on the website of the Vice Dean’s Office for Sustainability.
