Chromium X
The 10X Genomics Chromium X platform leverages advanced microfluidic technology to encapsulate individual cells into nanoliter-scale droplets. Each droplet contains a single cell, a barcoded gel bead with oligonucleotides, and the necessary reagents for cell lysis and reverse transcription, enabling highly efficient and scalable single-cell analysis.
Supported assays:
- 3' and 5' gene expression profiling
- Cell surface protein detection
- TCR/BCR repertoire profiling
- Chromatin accessibility (ATAC-Seq)
- Multiomics
Compatible sample types:
- Cell and nuclei suspensions
- Fresh and frozen tissue
- FFPE and PFA-fixed tissue
- Flow-sorted cells
- Organoids
The Chromium X microfluidic chip processes up to eight samples in parallel, each with up to 20,000 cells. For higher throughput and cost efficiency, it supports on-chip multiplexing of up to eight barcoded samples (5,000 cells each), enabling simultaneous processing while preserving sample identity.
BD Rhapsody™ HT Xpress
The BD Rhapsody™ HT Xpress System uses a microwell-based capture method to isolate individual cells in microwells, where each cell is paired with a barcoded bead and reagents for lysis and molecular tagging. This enables high-efficiency single-cell capture and multiomic profiling, even with fragile or heterogeneous cell types.
Supported assays:
- Whole transcriptome and targeted mRNA expression
- Surface protein detection (AbSeq)
- TCR/BCR repertoire profiling
- Chromatin accessibility (ATAC-Seq)
- Multiomics
Compatible sample types:
- Single-cell suspensions from fresh or cryopreserved tissue
- Peripheral blood, tumor tissue, and bone marrow
- Fixed or flow-sorted cells
- Organoids and dissociated solid tissues
The BD Rhapsody™ HT Xpress cartridge is designed with eight independently addressable lanes, allowing the processing of up to 192 barcoded samples and up to 320,000 cells per run. Its support for sample multiplexing and partial cartridge usage offers maximum flexibility in scheduling and helps optimize costs for high-throughput single-cell workflows.
