Invitation

The Medical Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn is committed to the promotion of scientists in the field of medical research. The faculty's own funding program, BONFOR, which supports outstanding young scientists by providing them with start-up funds, has proven to be a successful springboard into research for many young scientists. A large number of research projects have been funded in recent years, some of which have led to groundbreaking scientific findings and significant external funding.

The Neuro aCSis program is a partly DFG-funded, partly faculty-funded clinician-scientist program aimed at medical residents in the midst of their residency training. The scientific focus is on diseases of the nervous system and their relationship to systemic factors.

The BMBF-funded Advanced Clinician Scientist Program (ACCENT) is aimed at outstanding physicians with completed medical training and an established research profile. The program offers 50% protected research time over a period of six years. The program aims to link clinical and basic research in the spirit of scientific translation.

First, young scientists will present the results of their research projects funded by various funding instruments in individual lectures, followed by the advanced clinician-scientists. The Poster session is intended for SciMed fellows to present their project. It will be held in the afternoon after the lectures . The symposium provides a platform for all fellows to present their work.

A doctoral Promotion Fair (Promotionbörse) will take place in the form of a lunch seminar. During the poster session you will have the opportunity to learn more about the individual research groups. The aim of the Promotion Fair is to help medical students to find a project and a research group for their MD thesis.

We hope that this symposium will be a good opportunity for the research community at the Medical Faculty of the University of Bonn to establish and consolidate scientific interactions and to learn about ongoing research projects.

We hope to see you at the meeting.

Kind regards,

On behalf of the program speakers
