Innovation and further development of medical education
A curriculum is much more than a syllabus with medical school content—it is about the interaction of teaching and learning processes under the various conditions that exist at the Bonn Medical School. We ask ourselves questions such as “Are we adapting well to the students' prior knowledge during the course of their studies?” and “Do we have an optimal fit between teaching and the various forms of examination?” We are constantly developing the Bonn medical program and adapting it to current challenges such as the rapid growth of knowledge and digitization in medicine. However, changing federal regulations must also be implemented, such as the anticipated amendment to the licensing regulations and the associated mandatory National Competence-Based Learning Objectives Catalog (NKLM). We want to shape the further development of medical studies in Bonn for and with students and teachers.
Professional - ArHyPARe
The aim of the curriculum is to teach professional conduct in an interdisciplinary manner based on competencies and best practices in occupational safety, hygiene, patient safety, law, and ethics.
Multi-faceted - Interprofessional teaching
Joint learning between medical students and nursing staff strengthens communication, improves patient care, and promotes interprofessional collaboration.
Communcative - BonnKomm
Everyday medical practice involves a wide variety of conversational situations that require a high degree of communication and social skills. The direct link between theoretical knowledge and practical training units enables experience-based learning and promotes personal development.
Practical - SPP
Our program focuses on students' own actions in a variety of treatment situations. With the help of simulated conversations in particular, students can learn from their own experiences in a safe environment and expand their communication skills.
